The Gruffalo Visits! (Essex)

Event Summary
On Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September, The Gruffalo is heading to the Epping Ongar Railway for a day of fun and adventure.
Your experience begins at the Epping Tube Station, where you'll board a livingly restored vintage bus to take you to North Weald Station. From there, step aboard a heritage steam train for a nostalgic round trip on the Epping Ongar Railway.
Every child will receive a complimentary storybook, activity sheet with crayons, gingerbread biscuit and juice to enjoy during the trip.
When you return to the station, The Gruffalo will be waiting to meet families, wave hello and pose for photos, so don't forget your camera!
Points to Note:
- There is limited storage space for buggies on the vintage buses and they must be folded before boarding the bus.

Yes, buggies are welcome. However, storage space is limited on the vintage buses. All buggies must be folded before boarding or, if possible, we recommend leaving them in your car for a more comfortable journey.
The number of people a compartment ticket for is the maximum allowed in that compartment. However, we do allow one additional young child, beyond the stated maximum.
For larger groups, we recommend booking open-style seating to be seated together, or purchasing multiple compartments. While we can't guarantee it, we'll do our best to allocate compartments next to each other if they are booked in the same order.
Please note there are no public toilets at Epping Underground Station unless you hold a valid London Underground ticket. Additionally, there are no toilets on board the vintage bus or train.
Full toilet facilities, including accessible toilets, are available at North Weald and Ongar stations during your visit.
