Steam Train Travel with Fish & Chips (Scottish Highlands)

Event Summary
Climb aboard a restored 1950s/60s carriage for a nostalgic 20-mile round trip from Aviemore to Boat of Garten and Broomhill, hauled by a classic steam locomotive. This relaxed 1 hour 45 minutes journey through the Cairngorms National Park takes in the stunning views of the Scottish Highlands with it's rolling hills, farmland and River Spey. As seen on TV - The Traitors and Monarch of the Glen.
Before your departure, your freshly prepared food will be at the station, ready for you to enjoy during your steam-powered journey. Alongside your chosen food, you'll also receive a drink and a flapjack or biscuit.

Points to Note:
- Tables are arranged in fours. Groups of two may be seated with another party of two.
- Couples will be seated side by side and will travel forward in one direction of the journey and backward in the other.
- We do offer single tickets; however, these can only be purchased by contacting our enquiries team at [email protected] or by calling 01629 380600.
- A Family Ticket includes two adults and two children. Children are classed as aged 3 to 11 inclusive. Children under 3 travel free, however they are not provided with a meal and must sit on an adult's knee.

To make changes or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible either by email at [email protected] or by phone on 01629 380600.
We are able to make amendments or refund without charge until the Monday prior to your trip at 23:59, if you have notified us in writing or spoken to a Visitor Support Officer by this time.
Between that time and 24 hours before your trip (usually several days), we can amend or refund your booking with a £25 administrative charge, helping us as a small business cover costs like food which might already have been ordered.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer gluten-free or dairy-free options on this journey. All meals are provided by a third-party local fish & chip shop therefore, we cannot guarantee the absence of allergens.

Groups of four will be given their own table. If your group is larger than four, we will seat you across the aisle from each other so you can still sit close together and enjoy the event as a group.
There are basic toilet facilities on board the train. Fully accessible toilets are available at the stations.
A bottle of water is included with your meal. The railway usually operate a bar or trolley service on board subject to volunteer availability.
The railway's car park is a gravel surface. There is step free access to the platform via a ramp and foot crossing across the track. There is a level entrance to the station building.
The railway has a specially adapted carriage for wheelchairs. Please contact our enquiries team to discuss availability as it is in a different area of the train to our allocated carriage and is shared with the railway's other bookings.
