Step on-board a heritage steam train and travel back in time at the Ribble Steam Railway & Museum. Take a short steam train ride along Preston docks, wander around the museum filled with locomotives and carriages, and enjoy tasty fish and chips on-board.

Just before your train departs for a 35 minute round trip, tasty fish and chips are served/collected. You will also be given a drink and scrumptious flapjack or large biscuit.

Board the train and settle into seats on a private table for each group. There are bar drinks offered for sale too.

When we get back, you have plenty of time to look around the museum - highlights include the travelling post office carriage, vintage steam engines and freight vehicles of old.

The deadline for making amendments or a cancellation to your booking is the Tuesday before you travel. After this time, we begin preparations with the railway and suppliers for your arrival and therefore we may not be able to accommodate your alteration.

The Ribble Steam Railway runs a short way along the former Preston Docks including travelling over an impressive swing bridge which spans the River Ribble estuary. The train journey is around 45 minutes return.

Included in the ticket price is a delicious portion of fish & chips (or alternative) each, plus admission to the heritage train museum building. The museum features a collection of interesting locomotives and carriages for you to browse, plus an great gift shop and cafe. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to look around before your journey!

The Ribble Steam Railway and Museum is fully accessible both inside the museum and on the train, with a specially converted wheelchair area on board. Please contact our team to discuss availability of this area.

There are full toilet facilities, including accessible, inside the museum building.

There are no toilets on board the train.
