Paddington Visits! (Essex)
Event Summary
On Saturday 12th July & Saturday 9th August 2025, Fox & Edwards Events will be joined by Paddington on the Epping Ongar Railway, bringing lots of fun and excitement. There will be steam train trips and the chance to see Paddington at intervals.
Parking is at Epping Underground Station (CM16 4HW), from where you will hop on to our vintage bus services to North Weald Station where you will catch the steam train.
Your departure time is the departure time of the vintage bus.
Our steam train will take you to Ongar where you can meet Paddington, before you take a gentle journey back. This relaxed journey is a nostalgic trip back in time! At the end of your steam train journey, our vintage bus will take you back to the car park.
Every child and infant will receive a gingerbread train biscuit and juice carton too!

Frequently Asked Questions
The Epping Ongar Railway only has a very small car park at the departure station and therefore there is an understanding for visitors to use the TfL pay and display car park at Epping London Underground Station. Visitors will be taken to the steam railway from the 'Tube' station by vintage bus. The time stated on your booking is the bus departure time.
There is only very limited pushchair storage on the vintage bus. In all cases they must be folded down. We would recommend leaving them in your car if possible.
The number of persons a compartment ticket is for is the maximum number of persons that can fit into that compartment. We are willing for one young child to travel as an extra as an exception.
Parties larger than the compartment will need to be seated in open seating or purchase two compartments. Multiple compartments on the same booking are usually allocated ajdacent to each other.
Our famous character will be appearing at Ongar Station once your train arrives there from North Weald, part way through your journey. The train will wait at Ongar Station for a good while whilst you do this. Please feel free to explore other attractions at the station, including say 'hello' to the engine driver!
There are no toilets available at Epping London Underground Station unless you are a London Underground ticket holder. There are also no toilets on board the vintage bus.
Full toilet facilities, including accessible, are available once you arrive at North Weald Station and there are also toilets at Ongar Station too. There are no toilets available on board the train.
Our journeys all start at North Weald Station for this experience and visitors must start there as this is the return journey that their seats are reserved and allocated on to.
