Festive Steam Train Journey (Cambridgeshire)
Event Summary
Get out and about between Christmas and New Year by joining us for a festive steam train ride along the Nene Valley Railway, from Wansford Station.
Step aboard at the festively decorated Wansford Station and settle in for a wonderfully winter journey through the picturesque Nene Valley. As the train winds its way towards Peterborough Nene Valley Railway Station, enjoy a live musician on board, creating the perfect festive season atmosphere.
The approximately 65-minute return journey includes a short pause at the far end of the line while the locomotive runs around the train, before heading back to Wansford.
To keep the festive spirit, every adult will receive a delicious Viennese mince pie, accompanied by a refreshing Fentimans Mandarin & Seville Orange soft drink, to enjoy during the journey.

We are able to make amendments or refund without charge until the Monday prior to your trip at 23:59, if you have notified us in writing or spoken to a Visitor Support Officer by this time.
Between that time and 24 hours before your trip (usually several days), we can amend or refund your booking with a £25 administrative charge, helping us as a small business cover costs like food which might already have been ordered.

We are able to offer a gluten free mince pie which can be selected during the booking process. Gluten free mince pies are not the Viennese type mince pies as they contain gluten.
We are unable to cater for any other dietary requirements and there may be traces of nuts or other visitors with nut products.
There is a cafe at the station and catering kiosks which sell a range of hot and cold drinks which can be purchased in addition to the included refreshments. You are welcome to take these on the train with you if you wish.
There are two wheelchair spaces on board the train which may be shared with other events occuring at the same time. Please contact us on 01629 380600 to discuss availability and book.
The platform does feature a gap to the train so we recommend using the intermediate stepboard on the coach if required.
Yes there are toilet facilities on board the train, including an accessible toilet. There are toilet facilities at the station too.
Seating is arranged around tables for 4 either side of the aisle. Couples may be seated with another couple at the same table. Groups larger than 4 will be seated either side of the aisle.
