Event Summary
Join us for the atmopsheric Trick or Treat Train at the Great Central Railway Nottingham with lots of Halloween-themed fun on board. Enjoy a special train steam train journey from Ruddington Fields filled with decorated carriages, friendly Halloween characters, playful surprises and plenty of treats for kids!
There are no scary monsters or frightening frights here — just family-friendly Halloween fun! Children can dress up in their favourite costumes, meet some mischievous characters, enjoy an evening steam train ride and keep their eyes peeled for a few sweet surprises! Don't forget to pose for photos with our characters and join in with the sing-along as you go.
Hop on board, get dressed up and join us for a ride into the darkness! ...or see you at 3pm for an enjoyable ride whilst it is still dusk - ideal for little ones.

Frequently Asked Questions
The event is designed to be atmospheric but family fun, suitable for children of all ages, rather than scary.
Our characters will be handing out Haribo or similar sweeties to children as part of the trick or treat games. Please ensure that these are suitable for your child. We will have a stock of Nomo allergen-friendly chocolate available on request too.
The goodie bag includes small fun Halloween-themed items for children. Children aged 3 and above receive a goodie bag. Infants under 3 do not receive a goodie bag due to the suitability of items included.
To make changes or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible either by email at [email protected] or by phone on 01629 380600.
We are able to make amendments or refund without charge until the Monday prior to your trip at 23:59, if you have notified us in writing or spoken to a Visitor Support Officer by this time.
Between that time and 24 hours before your trip (usually several days), we can amend or refund your booking with a £25 administrative charge, helping us as a small business cover costs like food which might already have been ordered.

Drinks will be available to purchase on board the train from the bar coach.
Yes, there are toilets on board the train plus at the station too.
