After an opportunity to take photographs and stretch your legs, take your seats for the return leg of the journey where a cream tea will be served in a handy package consisting of a scone with jam & clotted cream, piece of cake and tea or coffee.

Your return journey, including a pause at Grosmont, will last approximately 3 hours 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Photographs on this page depict trains on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, however the images may feature the Mark 1 carriages from the 1950s/60s.

This journey uses the older wooden teak carriages which were operated by the LNER in the 1930s. With their art deco interiors, they truly are like stepping back to yesteryear.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs through a National Park and takes it's responsibility for the local environment seriously. In periods of long warm dry spells, steam locomotives may pose a heightened risk of fires to the local moorland. The railway monitor this dilligently during the summer months.

In these instances, the railway may substitute the steam locomotive portion of the journey with a heritage diesel locomotive.

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions of Booking regarding this situation.
