Step into a world of imagination this Christmas on board Santa's Steam Train Adventure at the Ribble Steam Railway & Museum!

Your journey begins in the museum building at the Ribble Steam Railway, where there are festive activities to enjoy. Mother Christmas and her cheeky elves are waiting to welcome you on board our festive steam train, spreading festive cheer throughout the carriages. She will have a Christmas story book for every child. Plus, a big moment! Santa himself will also be making his way through the train with a quality gift for every child on his nice list. 

During your journey, children can enjoy a complementary juice and baked treat plus a bespoke Christmas activity book whilst adults can tuck into a delicious mince pie. 

Optional Extra: Add a Festive Treat Tin packed with seasonal bakes, such as shortbread and cookies, presented in a keepsake tin (not suitable for gluten free).

Traditional Compartment
Open style seating

A traditional private compartment featuring comfortable bench style seating, walls and a sliding door.

A traditional 1950/60s coach with an open style interior. Seats are arranged around tables of 4.

To make changes or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible either by email at [email protected] or by phone on 01629 380600.

We are able to make amendments or refund without charge until the Monday prior to your trip at 23:59, if you have notified us in writing or spoken to a Visitor Support Officer by this time.

Between that time and 24 hours before your trip (usually several days), we can amend or refund your booking with a £25 administrative charge, helping us as a small business cover costs like food which might already have been ordered.

No, each booking in open seating will be allocated their own table.

The standard food item in the complimentary package is a gingerbread biscuit in the shape of a steam train. 

For children who have allergies or intolerances, we offer Nomo chocolate which are plant-powered and free from dairy, gluten, egg and nuts. There is no need to contact us in advance - simply ask the member of our team on board the train, when offered for the allergy-free alternative. 

Sorry, there isn't a wheelchair accessible area on board the train. We are working hard to introduce the facility in the future.

We recommend visitors who requre a wheelchair accessible area look visiting the Great Central Railway at Loughborough for their Santa Specials instead.

 

No, you do not need to print your tickets, simply give your name to the Fox & Edwards Representative at the check in desk. 

A confirmation email is sent automatically when you make your booking. If you don't see it, please check your spam or junk folder. 

Further information about your visit will be emailed approximately 7 days before your trip. 

There is limited storage space on board the train, and pushchairs will generally need to be folded to fit through the train doors. We recommend folding them before boarding to make access easier. 

If you are unable to fold your pushcair, a Fox & Edwards representative will guide you on the day to where you can leave it whilst you are on the train.
