Step into a world of imagination this Christmas on board Santa's Steam Train Adventure at the Aln Valley Railway!
Your journey begins at Lionheart Station where Mother Christmas and her cheeky elves are waiting to welcome you on board our festive steam train, spreading festive cheer throughout the carriages. She will have a Christmas story book for every child. Plus a big moment! Santa himself will also be making his way through the train with a quality gift for every child on his nice list.
During your journey, children can enjoy a complimentary juice and baked treat plus a bespoke Christmas activity book whilst adults can tuck into a delicious mince pie.
Optional Extra: Add a Festive Treat Tin packed with seasonal bakes, such as shortbread and cookies, presented in a keepsake tin (not suitable for gluten free).

Seating Options
A traditional private compartment featuring comfortable bench style seating, walls and a sliding door.
A traditional 1950/60s coach with an open style interior. Seats are arranged around tables of 4.

No, each booking in open seating will be allocated their own table.
The number of persons a compartment is for is the maximum number of persons permitted in that compartment. As an exception, we allow one infant per compartment over and above the compartment maximum to sit on the knee.
Groups larger than the maximum will require a second compartment.
If you wish to add an additional person to your booking, please contact our enquiries team on 01629 380600 or at [email protected] so that we can ensure your booking is all seated together.
We are able to make amendments or refund without charge until the Monday prior to your trip at 23:59, if you have notified us in writing or spoken to a Visitor Support Officer by this time.
Between that time and 24 hours before your trip (usually several days), we can amend or refund your booking with a £25 administrative charge, helping us as a small business cover costs like food which might already have been ordered.

There are full toilet facilities at Lionheart Station. There are no toilets on board the train.
Lionheart Station has a lovely cafe which will be open for winter warmers plus there is a wonderful miniature railway too (weather dependant, locally chargeable)
There is limited heating on board the steam train so we recommend wrapping up warm.
