Celebration Dinner with Flying Scotsman (Nottinghamshire)
Event Summary
The World famous Flying Scotsman locomotive is visiting the Great Central Railway Nottingham at Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre's Ruddington site, near Nottingham, in May 2026.
We're marking the relaunch of the Great Central Railway Nottingham with our Celebration Dinner evenings, served in the specially-dressed engine shed at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre with the legendary Flying Scotsman locomotive as a backdrop. There will be a freshly-prepared three course meal served to your seat at a banquet table, live jazz and swing style music and the opportunity to visit the footplate of Flying Scotsman too. Tickets include a commemorative brochure of the locomotive's visit to Nottingham.
The evening starts with doors opening at 18:30 for a 19:00 start. See below for menu.
There will be a bar available for visitors to purchase drinks.
Whilst this event is not 'black tie', we encourage smart attire.
Important Note:
This is a static experience which occurs when Flying Scotsman is resting in the engine shed. Visitors on this experience do not travel on the train.

Frequently Asked Questions
Seating is arranged in large banquet-style tables, with tables shared with other visitors.
Each booking will receive their own food stands on the Afternoon Tea or service on the dinner.
We are able to offer gluten free, dairy free & vegetarian alternatives for this experience. Please note, we are not able to cater for other requirements such as nut free. We can additionally offer a vegan alternative for the Celebration Dinner however we're unable to offer this for the Afternoon Tea.

The minimum age for this experience is 12 years old. There are no reductions for children.
These experiences operate on a day when Flying Scotsman is appearing statically in the engine shed. Flying Scotsman is not running on these dates. Tickets do not include a train journey.

We are able to cancel or amend your booking freely until the Thursday prior to your visit at 23:59. After this time any cancellations, amendments or refunds may be subject to a £25 administration fee. No cancellations or amendments may be accommodated within 24 hours.
