Steam Train Travel with Cream Tea Gift Vouchers (Somerset)

You can now buy a gift voucher for our 2026 season - the perfect Christmas present! Specific dates for these journeys will be able to book from January, with trips running on a variety of dates from March to October. 

Let them experience Britain's longest standard-guage heritage railway. A 23-mile steam train journey from Bishops Lydeard to the coastal town of Minehead. 

They'll settle into their seat as the train steams through rolling countryside and stretches of Somerset coastline. On arrival at Minehead, they'll have time to enjoy the station, admire the locomotive against the seafront backdrop and browse the Buffer Stop Shop for gifts or the Readers Halt second-hand bookshop. 

On the return journey, they can indulge in a traditional British cream tea served to your seat including scones with jam & clotted cream, accompanied by unlimited tea or coffee. 

Example Timings:

• Morning departures: Depart from Bishops Lydeard at 10:15, arrive at Minehead at 11:35. Depart from Minehead at 12:20 with cream team, arrive back at 13:35.
• Afternoon departures: Depart from Bishops Lydeard at 14:25, arrive at Minehead 15:50. Depart from Minehead 16:35 with cream tea, arrive back at 17:50. 

Points to Note: 

• We can provide gluten-free and dairy-free alternatives if notified in advance.
• Children's tickets are not available to purchase on this service.
