The World famous Flying Scotsman locomotive is visiting the Great Central Railway Nottingham at Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre's Ruddington site, near Nottingham, in May 2026.
We're offering the opportunity to have a wonderful afternoon tea experience in the specially-dressed engine shed with the legendary Flying Scotsman locomotive as the backdrop. Enjoy a delicious quintessentially British afternoon tea in the presence of such a legendary British icon!
Take your seat in the engine shed, with tables arranged in banquet style, and we'll serve an afternoon tea consisting of a finger sandwich selection, freshly baked scones with jam & cream plus a delicious selection of cakes on a traditional tiered stand. There will be accompanying tea and freshly brewed coffee.
There will be live music of a vintage style in the background and a bar for those wishing to indulge further.
Your visit includes the opportunity to visit the footplate of the locomotive and a commemorative brochure too!
Important Note:
This is a static experience which occurs when Flying Scotsman is resting in the engine shed. Visitors on this experience do not travel on the train.
