Frequently Asked Questions
Can you cope with allergies? Most allergies / intolerances cannot be catered for. Please note that all food and drink is prepared and distributed close to each other and so there is likely to be cross-contamination. Safety first is really important so if an allergy or intolerance is severe, please do not eat the option provided. When presented with catering (either on train or at stations), please ask for information.
Is seating reserved? Yes, and everyone who books under the same name will be seated together.
What is the present? Presents vary but are age-specific. The elves have been busy!
When will these trains operate? Various dates in November and December. Check the lists above for information.
How long is the journey? The total visit time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes in total.
Where does the train leave from? This trip departs from East Grinstead station. Parking is available in local carparks which are walks of between four and eight minutes away: Norton House car park (RH19 3JY), Railway Approach car park (RH19 1BS) and Station car park (RH19 1EB). These are separately managed and charged.
I have limited mobility but can walk short distances? There are walks involved in a visit but there are things we can do to lessen these if you notify us when booking. Note that there are two steps onto the train, assisted by a grab handle.
Can I come as a wheelchair user? Please let us know when you were considering coming and we can check this out for you. After any booking, please drop us a quick email so we can make a note too.
Is it possible to book first class? We are offering a different seating style in the historic Observation Car. This isn't first class, but it does feature beautiful large windows to enjoy the journey from.
Do you have car parking? Parking is available in local carparks which are walks of between four and eight minutes away: Norton House car park (RH19 3JY), Railway Approach car park (RH19 1BS) and Station car park (RH19 1EB). These are separately managed and charged.
I expected to have an email by now with details of my trip included? Our pre-vist emails are sent approximately five days before the journey.
One of my party is unwell / other reason means I cannot attend. Can we have a refund / transfer to another date? Refunds and transfers are only available up to one week before the date. After this, transfers or refunds are not possible.
