Fox & Edwards Events is hiring an Operations Manager! Join us in this central role to help us prepare and deliver events / journeys, giving visitors fantastic memories.

About Us:
Fox & Edwards Events was established in 2019 by Olly & Julie to deliver events and experiences that encourage visitors to embrace heritage visitor attractions.
Since then, we have been operating steam train trips on heritage railways throughout the UK. We currently work with ten railways from Derbyshire to Kent and Dorset providing a variety of journey options such as fish and chips, cream tea, character events and more.
Our trips are growing in popularity and so we are looking for additional support to ensure that visitors get the best possible experience. We are looking for an Operations Manager to help us in several key areas:

Key Information:
This post is 37.5 hours per week.
Working Wednesday to Sunday each week.
We expect there to be a two week “cycle” in this post, with one weekend per cycle away from home running events nationwide. A typical example of cycle is shown in the supporting documents section below. Please reference this in your application.
Expenses will be paid.
A mixture of office working in the Midlands, home-working and event working around the UK.
Three £50 gift vouchers (birthday, Christmas and anniversary of joining the company) are provided to each team member.
Holiday allowance depending on hours level per year, minimum 28 days per year including bank holidays. Please note that holidays must be agreed in advance and in line with business needs.
A six-month probationary period will apply to any candidate. This may be extended to twelve months.

- A great leader, able to be a positive ambassador for the company, motivate staff and efficiently lead on events - both with practical tasks and people/team management.
- Manage event logistics - from ordering and deliveries to staffing and problem-solving.
- Prepare for trains by drafting and overseeing train seating lists.
- Staffing event days across the country as a senior event lead.
- Overseeing our representatives nationwide, supporting them and answering their questions.
- Answering visitor enquiries on a semi-regular basis, giving you an insight into common questions.
About You:
You’ll be:
- Keen like us to provide the best experiences for visitors.
- Well organised, reliable and present positively.
- Good with IT / Microsoft Office.
- A clear communicator with excellent written and spoken skills, both in people management and administrative skills - good at writing emails and taking calls.
- A great team player who demonstrates initiative and is able to work alone to complete tasks well and on-time.
- Calm under pressure, positive and flexible. You’ll consider yourself someone who gets ‘stuck in’ with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Reliable with good attention to detail.
- Able to work from home and equally comfortable being regularly away from home.
- Previous experience in heritage / events / visitor attractions / tourism to bring to the role.
- A driver with own transport for work / delivery use.
